Elaine Henry is currently the Editor/Publisher of the international ceramics publications Ceramics: Art & Perception and Ceramics TECHNICAL. She served as the Chair of the Department of Art at Emporia State University from the year 2000 to 2007. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Wyoming in 1992, and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1995. She began teaching at ESU in 1996. Henry served as the President of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA), a 5000 member international arts organization, from 2002 to 2004. She is currently a Fellow of that group. She is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and has served as President and in other board capacities on local and state arts organizations. Her work is internationally published, exhibited and collected.
